Hello All!
Welcome to the 2020-2021 NIAND year!
I’d like to start off by thanking everyone for their understanding and patience in cancelling our last few Spring meetings.
Moving forward this year, we are still planning on meeting in person as able and will be potentially attempting virtual attendance options as opportunity allows. More information to come as the year changes. For in person meetings, face masks will be required and the location will be set to allow for social distancing. The typical meal/snacks that we try to provide will likely be adjusted to help promote safety or be suspended for the time being. Again, thank you for your understanding during these times.
One of our main goals as a board this year is outreach-including member focused outreach and community involvement. As a board, we’re working together to help create more awareness of our group through social media this year and offer further volunteer opportunities to help serve the community (please let us know if you know of any opportunities).
If there are any particular areas you’d like to see us improve upon please share these ideas with me and I will gladly review and discuss them with the board to better your experiences with NIAND.
As crazy as life can be for us all at times, it is my personal goal this year to foster clear communication with you all on opportunities for education and professional growth. I’d also like to open up my inbox to any questions, suggestions, concerns, requests any time they come about for you all and will work my hardest to find answers/solutions to help offer you support.

Northern Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NIAND) is a district group within the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAND) and is affiliated with The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (The Academy). NIAND is a non-for-profit professional organization that include registered dietitians, dietetic technicians, and dietetic students. NIAND and IAND promote and enhance our profession through various activities and help to improve the lives of Illinois citizens through evidence-based practices.
