Nominations and Elections

The Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is accepting nominations for volunteer and elected leadership positions for the upcoming membership year. We encourage you to nominate a colleague—or yourself—to help shape the future of our profession in Illinois. Members of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome to apply. Elected Leadership Positions

President-Elect
Prepares to serve as President by supporting the current President, assisting with strategic planning and budget development, and assuming presidential duties as needed.

Term: 1 year President-Elect, 1 year President, 1 year Immediate Past President
Time Commitment: 5+ hours/week

Council of Professional Issues (CPI) Chair-Elect
Prepares to lead the Council of Professional Issues and assists with planning the Spring Assembly alongside the Professional Development Committee.

Term: 1 year Chair-Elect, 1 year Chair
Time Commitment: ~5 hours/week

Nominating Chair-Elect
Supports the Nominating Chair and assists with recruiting qualified candidates for elected positions.

Term: 1 year Chair-Elect, 1 year Chair
Time Commitment: ~1 hour/week

Secretary
Records meeting minutes, maintains official records, and supports board communications and membership-related responsibilities.

Term: 2 years
Time Commitment: ~1 hour/week

Delegate
Represents Illinois Academy members in the House of Delegates by attending meetings, responding to communications, and sharing member perspectives.

Term: 3 years
Time Commitment: Approximately 15–20 days per year

Treasurer-Elect
Assists with financial oversight before transitioning into the Treasurer role, including maintaining financial records and reporting to the Board of Directors.
