Nominations and Elections

The Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the slate of candidates for the 2024-2025 election. Candidates are listed below. The election will open April 15, 2024 and will continue through April 30, 2024. All Illinois Academy members in good standing as of April 15, 2024 are eligible to participate and vote in this election.

For the Office of President-Elect

The candidate for President-Elect for the 2024-2025 term is: Amy K Moore, MS, RDN, LDN, LCE

  • Automatically becomes President of the Illinois Academy at the beginning of the next fiscal year.
  • Performs functions of the office of President when absent.
  • Stays in contact with all duties of the President and of other elected officers.
  • Develop program and activities for term as President, incorporating goals in Strategic Plan and assist with budget development with the Treasurer to accomplish the program.
Length of Term: 1 Year President-Elect + 1 Year President + 1 Year Immediate Past President
Volunteer Time Expectations: 5+ hours/week

 

For the Office of CPI Chair-Elect 

The candidate for CPI Chair-Elect for the 2024-2025 term is: Jennifer Hubert, MS, RDN, LDN

  • Automatically becomes CPI Committee Chair of the Illinois Academy at the beginning of the fiscal year.
  • Program Planning Committee Chair for the Illinois Academy Spring Assembly.
  • Responsible for the planning and coordinating the Illinois Academy Spring Assembly meeting with the Program Planning Committee.
Length of Term: 1 Year CPI Chair-Elect + 1 Year CPI Chair
Volunteer Time Expectation: 5 hours/week

 

For the Office of Nominating Chair-Elect

The candidate for Nominating Chair-Elect for the 2024-2025 term is: Anita Davila, RDN, LDN

  • Automatically becomes Nominating Committee Chair of the Illinois Academy at the beginning of the fiscal year.
  • Stays in contact with all duties of the Nominating Chair.
  • Assist with soliciting potential candidates for each ballot position.
  • Assists with submission of articles to the Bulletin requesting suggestions for potential candidates from membership.
Length of Term: 1 Year Nominating Chair-Elect + 1 Year Nominating Chair
Volunteer Time Expectation: 1 hour/week

 

For the Office of Secretary

Nominations are not needed until 2025

  • Attends, takes roll and meeting minutes at the Executive Committee and Board of Directors Meetings. 
  • Files reports as requested by President.
  • Proofreads Illinois Academy documents as requested.
  • Stays in contact with the duties of membership. 
Length of Term: 2 Years Secretary
Volunteer Time Expectation: 1 hour/week

 

For the Office of Delegate (North) 

The candidate for Delegate (North) for the 2024-2025 term is: Val Chudzinski, MA, RD, LDN, CNSC

  • Attends Illinois Academy Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Academy House of Delegates, House Mid-Year Meetings and Area Meeting.
  • Responds to communication from Speaker of the House.
  • Listen and communicate concerns of members to the House of Delegates.
  • Formulate, organize thoughts, and speak effectively.
Length of Term: 3 Years Delegate
Volunteer Time Expectation: 15-20 days per year

 

For the Office of Treasurer-Elect

The candidates for Treasurer-Elect for the 2024-2025 term are: 

  1. Sarah Cohen, MS, RDN, LDN

  2. Evelyn Rios MS, RDN

  3. Samantha Shuflin, MS, RDN, LDN, PMP

  • Automatically becomes Treasurer of the Illinois Academy at the beginning of the fiscal year.
  • Stays in contact with all duties of the Treasurer and assists with Financial Committee needs. 
  • Receive and have custody of all funds and securities.
  • See the full and accurate financial records are kept and reviewed.
  • Reports the financial status of the Illinois Academy to the Board of Directors and members.
Length of Term: 1 Year Treasurer-Elect + 1 Year Treasurer
Volunteer Time Expectation: 1 hour/week
